SUMMARY:Help us Bridge rural digital divide and inequality
DESCRIPTION:Event Description\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIYDN Skills Builders Community Plateau State Chapter is partnering with GlobalGiving to raise funds for the first Digital/Energy Inclusion\, Peace and Sports Bootcamp for Rural Farmers Kids. This event shall be an annual rotational event to be hosted in different farmers’ communities each year to help bridge the energy & digital divide and engage young future farmers in modern agritech and peacebuilding\, using sports as a unifying force which can help form a cohesive community identity. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChallenge\nRural farmers in Plateau State face various challenges\, including access to drinking water\, electricity\, modern farming techniques\, and the impact of climate change\, in recent years\, they experienced frequent ethnic and religious conflicts\, leading to the displacement and loss of livelihoods. Although most have decent school buildings but lack skilful educators\, 80% of educators\, students and youths are not aware of recent technological inventions\, especially AI and how it support learning. \n\nSolution\nOur Skill Builders’ team shall expose these disadvantaged learners and their educators to modern learning tools and agritech\, helping learners to pursue higher education\, secure better employment\, and break the cycle of poverty and inequality. Also\, the project is conceived to manage the future reoccurrence of deadly ethnic clashes to change the mindset of the future generation via peace workshops and sports to strengthen social bonds\, through joint learning\, team-building and exercise \n\nLong term impact\nThe project is expected to have a lasting impact on the community because it will equip rural farming communities with basic digital skills and knowledge\, enabling them to better engage with digital tools and technologies for their benefit. The project aims to promote and help rural farmers acquire and use renewable energy\, leading to reduced environmental impact and improved energy access and job opportunities for the youths and fostering a sense of camaraderie and community spirit.

DESCRIPTION:Event Description\nWe tackle the root cause of poverty by using innovative approaches to addressing skills Development and Empowerment. IYDN works in Partnership with local skills acquisition centers with the aim of discovering tomorrow’s transformational leaders today and equipping them for a better future with more emphasis on the girl child. \nwe have observed that there are few private driving skill training centers doing a great job in rural communities but most of these centers lack recognition by the government and lack a standard curriculum and conducive training environment/learning equipment. Also\, most apprentices are not able to establish themselves after the completion of the training because of a lack of startup capital making it impossible for them to achieve their entrepreneurship dream. Your kind donation to the IYDN impact fund will help us address this challenge and empower more disadvantaged learners to achieve their life dreams. \nYour donation will help us support them with training tools to enable these local acquisition centers to engage learners with the right skills. \nAt graduation\, depending upon funding\, we empower each youth with startup funds through IYDN revolving Impact fund\, also we promote their enterprise through our local and international partners making them more visible and their business viable.
